Who I am
This website belongs to André Reid, a sole trader based in the West Midlands. I decide how the personal information described here is used (I am the “controller”). You can reach me at hello@andrereid.co.uk.
What I collect, and why
- When you email me: your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell me, so that I can reply and, if you want, prepare a proposal.
- When you book a conversation: the booking link takes you to Calendly, a separate scheduling service. Calendly passes me your name, email address, the time you chose, and your answers to its booking questions, so that I can hold the call. Calendly’s own privacy policy and cookies apply on its pages.
- When you visit this site: the hosting service keeps short technical logs, including IP addresses, to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. I do not use these logs to identify you.
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third party scripts or fonts.
My lawful basis
I use your information because I have a legitimate interest in replying to people who contact me, and because you may want to take steps towards an agreement with me. If we work together, I keep what is needed to carry out our agreement and to meet my tax and accounting duties.
Who else handles it
- My email provider (Apple iCloud Mail), which stores the messages we exchange.
- Calendly, if you book through the link.
- The website host and network provider (Cloudflare), for the technical logs above.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on the legal safeguards the UK recognises for international transfers. I do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
How long I keep it
If an enquiry does not lead to work, I delete it within 12 months. If we work together, I keep project correspondence and records for six years after the work ends, to meet tax and legal duties.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how I use it, or object to my using it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Email hello@andrereid.co.uk. I will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first at hello@andrereid.co.uk. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
